They do this by maintaining the physical integrity of the property including maintaining a safe and sanitary living environment for all guests and staff.

a day in the life 
 
Under the leadership of the Facilities Manager and Distribution Center Leadership Team, a Facilities Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting with the entire 300,000 square foot retail distribution facility and the surrounding property. This includes the MHE, physical grounds, custodial, preventative, corrective, deferred and emergency care of the space. They will be responsible for the maintenance program.  In addition to leading the facility, they will lead new hire, required/refresher training, team building and personal development. 
 

  • -Lead the facilities technicians (4-10 techs) – provide regular coaching and performance management 

  • -Responsible for the entire facility operations and maintenance activities 

  • -Utilize the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to maintain inventory of equipment/parts and schedule maintenance 

  • -Maintain maintenance and compliance logs 

  • -Manage 3rd party contractors/vendors (annual contracts/renewals) 

  • -Conduct scheduled maintenance and safety audit to ensure quality, responding immediately to emergency situations 

  • Lead: 

  • Assembly and installation of equipment such as: drive motors, gearboxes, belts, gravity conveyors, platforms, and other types of material handling equipment  

  • Troubleshooting and resolving operational issues (emergency repairs) 

  • Work-around techniques to keep operations running 

  • Daily inspection and cleanup of building perimeter, including general repairs  

  • -Inform appropriate DC partners on important communication 
     

Qualifications 
 

  • -Excellent communication skills (phone, email + verbal) 

  • -Strong ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects (electrical/mechanical) 

  • -Ability to make quality decisions (ensure communication with OPS team) 

  • -Open to giving and receiving feedback- They know that there is always more to learn  

  • -Proficient with Microsoft Outlook and basic computer skills 

  • -Dayshift hours; but must be flexible to support off shift projects/tasks/breakdowns and peak activities (as needed) 

  • -Requires minimum of forty hours per work week.  

  • -5+ years of hands on experience in facilities maintenance, manufacturing, general mechanical trade or general contracting 

  • -Skilled with power tools, ground maintenance equipment, electrical, masonry, plumbing, carpentry, paints, solvents, adhesives and able to operate PIT equipment (Raymond Preferred) 

  • -Ability to lift up to 60lbs frequently 

  • -Ability to maintain a safe work environment
