ABOUT THIS TEAM

The Senior Manager of Production Control is responsible for managing workflow in all North American (NA) company operated distribution centers (DCs).  The Senior Manager will partner with DC Operations to develop and maintain workflow management strategies and reporting to help achieve targeted DC performance.


Additionally, the Production Control Team is a critical DC partner who generates and manages the daily workload for both Retail and E-Commerce. They ensure all processes related to order effective flow are happening on-time and key performance targeted are achieved.  The team monitors workflow through the DCs and make changes as necessary to hit daily goals, including minimizing aging orders. 


A DAY IN THE LIFE

  • Develop and maintain workflow strategies that drives DC performance. Ensure waving consistency where applicable, but account for uniqueness to each building.  
    • Evaluate and make improvements to the waving strategy, templates and processes across the NA DCs. 
    • Identify and implement strategies to improve workflow throughout each building and across the NA DC network.   
  • Partner with DC Operations, manage daily workflow through each building and ensure daily and weekly targets are achieved.
    • Collaborate with the Labor Planning Team ensuring their tools and processes are aligned with the waving strategy and overall goals for the DCs.  
    • Demonstrate strong, proactive and collaborative partnership with leadership in each building. 
    • Champion and drive alignment between Production Control and DC Operations teams to effectively hit daily goals and build partnerships.
    • Communicate workflow, aging and strategic updates to DC leadership, including Senior Leadership across the organization (when applicable). 
  • Improve production control processes and drive process consistency across all the NA distribution network
    • As part of initiatives and general improvements, develop and document process Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
    • Work with key partners (e.g. I.T., Engineering) to identify and close gaps in reporting and planning tools. 
    • Involvement in key projects (WMS upgrades, mechanical changes) to understand the impacts to the business and make waving changes to maximizes the new technology. 
  • Build a high performing team that is sustained by a motivational and supportive environment in which employees are challenged, coached, trained and provided with growth opportunities.
    • Manage Production Control Teams across the company operated DCs in North America, including hiring, promotions, recognition, budgets and performance management.
    • Mentor, coach and develop talent, including creating development plans, succession planning, the yearly review process and offering both positive and constructive feedback. 
    • Develop a team expertise in waving rules and templates in Manhattan WMS, including associated functions such as let downs and fill active.
