A day in the life of the Data Analyst

The Data Analyst is an exceptional analytical thinker who is passionate about analyzing data and extracting insights to support decisions. This individual will work closely with data scientists and data engineers to build machine learning models and analytical tools to solve complex business problems, and communicating findings to business and technology partners. Working in teams of diverse skillsets and backgrounds, the Data Analyst works on projects tackling the most difficult problems facing our Product functions.

Core Accountabilities

  • Perform descriptive analytics, data processing, with large datasets.
  • Help build and maintain predictive and prescriptive data science models to support product and assortment strategy.
  • Collaborate with business and technology partners to extract insights from the model results.

The Finer Print

  • Master/Bachelor’s degree in a rigorous quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, economics, physics, etc. 
  • 2-3 years of work experience in data analytics, preferably in the retail or apparel industries
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, including demonstrated creativity in problem solving
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong coding skills inPython, including experiences in popular libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn.
  • Proficiency with data visualization packages such as Plotly, Matplotlib.
  • Proficiency with using SQL and database basics
  • Experiences in Machine Learning, Mathematical Optimizations, Statistics
  • Experiences in working with AWS and collaborations tools such as Github
