You create an annual regional vision and strategy, quarterly sales plans and monitor and respond to results through the quarterly business review process. You are accountable for all aspects of regional performance. You are the catalyst for the right product to be in the right place, at the right time, to drive sales and margin within your region.

You manage your regional portfolio, focusing on investment in existing stores and future store pipeline strategy. You manage, coach and develop Store Managers. You facilitate ongoing development that is focused on building SM capabilities, and you actively manage the store leadership pipeline to ensure that succession plans are in place for each role and proactively recruit leaders for new stores. You lead innovation in the community, reaching out to new communities, as well as growing and driving traffic in established markets.

A day in the life: 
  • You share our company history & original intent to keep our people connected to our roots and core values; you lead and coach your region through our core values and store principles.
  • You foster a regional conversation about the continual elevation of guest experience and coach your stores to prioritize guest and educator experience in everything they do.
  • You identify gaps and opportunities with guest experience and support in creating a strategy for closing those gaps; you celebrate and acknowledge great guest experience.
  • You can be found working the sales floor with your teams on peak sales days, to lead by example and spot patterns within the business.
  • You manage and anticipate the needs of your people portfolio; you are responsible for your region’s talent planning and recruitment strategy.
  • You oversee the Store Manager hiring process beginning with recruiting all the way through to compensation, on boarding and training strategy.
  • You oversee the hiring process for all store roles – you are connected to the vision and strategy for the store teams and support the Store Managers in their hiring decisions building a diverse team that prioritizes guest connection and provides world-class guest experience.
  • You manage compliance, leaves of absence, job changes and separations for your region and ensure your stores are aligned with all company policies and procedures.
  • You utilize company tools and resources to coach on and document performance concerns with direct report team (i.e. FFIs, Performance Reviews, Terminations); you coach SMs within region on performance management process and tools.
  • You are responsible for assessment, training and ongoing development for your Store Managers; you facilitate successful trainings, performance/development meetings and weekly/monthly regional communication as needed.
  • You are responsible for the product and sell through strategy within your region including assortment, allocation, pricing, visual merchandising and ensuring that your stores and showrooms have the right product at the right time.
  • You create and support area/regional year-long initiatives in line with company priorities and work with your regional portfolio to execute these initiatives.
  • You track and report on the results of your region weekly to your Area Director.
  • You understand your regional market composition of all the business channels that our guest touches within the boundaries of your region, which can include: stores, showrooms, factory outlets, hybrid stores, pop-up/seasonal stores, strategic sales accounts and e-commerce.
  • You are in close relationship with your Store Managers and their teams; you are available and accessible for your team and you maintain a constant communication cadence [weekly 1:1s, store visits, etc.].
  • You provide consistent coaching and feedback to hold your team accountable to results; you are accountable for the performance evaluation delivery process for all members of your team.
  • You are in close relationship with cross-functional partners to support all aspects of the retail business supporting your people and portfolio management; you collaborate with area partners to build a strategy for future pipeline needs, considering new store openings, projected turnover, churn, leaves of absence, etc.
  • You work with FP&A and your Store Managers to proactively forecast sale planning for all store locations and distribute these sales plans to Store Managers.
  • You manage your region’s P&L, quarterly and yearly sales contributions.
  • You approve your team’s expense reports, manage your own expensing and budget and approve all SMs P&L disputes.
  • You are fully accountable for and oversee the execution of all deliverables on the Regional Manager 80.20 Checklist, and you perform the role responsibilities of Educator, Key Leader, Assistant Store Manager and Store Manager as needed.
  • Under the direction of the Area Director, you perform/complete other additional projects, duties, and assignments as required and/or by request.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 year’s work experience in multi-store retail management.
  • lululemon store management experience a strong asset.
  • 5 years proven management experience of large or diverse groups.
  • Business Degree – an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and delegate.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a changing environment.
  • Excellent decision making and problem resolution skills.
  • Extraordinary guest interaction, organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • All employees’ availability must reflect the needs of the business - this schedule could include mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • lululemon reserves the right to make amendments to the schedule and/ or availability requirements from time to time and at its sole discretion.
  • All employees are expected to be available to work “Black Friday” (the day after US Thanksgiving) and from the second week of December (the start of the second week in period 11) until the end of the holiday season, to be defined each year based in part on the time period guests are permitted to return holiday merchandise, on an annual basis.
  • Willingness and availability to travel.
  • Strong computer skills - MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).

The finer print:
  • 5 days/40 hours per week.
  • Status: exempt.
  • You are able and willing to travel by car and air as needed at the discretion of your Area Director.
