About this team
This role is part of the Sustainable Business & Impact team shaping the future of impact within our brand and business. This work doesn’t just live in one function; social and environmental impact at lululemon are a holistic practice of mindful choices that is integrated in everything we do. The team leads and integrates our vision and initiatives to create value for our brand, our collective (guests, employees, makers, ambassadors), and society. You will be part of the Product & Environmental Sustainability group in Supply Chain, leading materials traceability projects and operations and contributing to the broader Be Planet work.
A day in the life:
• Research and assess industry best practices and regulatory traceability and certification requirements.
• Partner with industry associations and certification groups to influence and provide a business perspective on the impact of and response to traceability and certifications. Provide analysis of business impact and recommendations for lululemon’s response to proposed traceability or certification requirements.
• Work with internal partners to recommend and implement process or systems that best suit the brand and meet global traceability requirements
• Support the lululemon Brand team with the creation of guest-facing messaging around key materials or certifications
• Work with product and material sustainability teams to complement and accelerate toward public sustainability goals.
Qualifications:
• 10+ years of work experience in textiles, apparel, footwear or adjacent consumer goods industry.
• 5+ years professional expertise in supply chain, material development & manufacturing
• Bachelor degree in areas of supply chain management, business, or textile/apparel or engineering. Social or environmental studies a plus.
• 5+ years experience representing a company in external forums and collaboration with diverse stakeholder groups
• Clear communicator who can break complex topics into easy-to-understand and actionable pieces of information across all levels of the business
• Experience with product development processes and product data management.
• Understanding of product and material sustainability issues. Knowledge of specific certification and traceability within the apparel industry a plus.
• Strong project management and organization skills, ability to prioritize time and tasks, and solve problems.
