About this role
The Key Leader plays a key role in the Store Leadership Team. They are responsible for supervising the retail floor, taking initiative, delegating tasks, providing “in the moment” feedback and coaching to the team, following up on outstanding issues and is a star “go to” person. Under the supervision and direction of the Store Manager, the position assists in any leadership duties that arise, thereby working directly with the Store Manager & Assistant Manager, as well as directly supervising the community leader and educators in the stores. The Key Leader also works closely with the Store Leadership Team in supporting the general store operations functions
A Day in the Life
- The key objective of the position is to ensure that the retail store runs effectively in the absence of the Manager or Assistant Manager. In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting in the key aspects of store operations and in ensuring the successful delivery of the lululemon culture, philosophy, values, and vision of raising the overall level of health in our communities
- Encourages and energizes staff, and assists in evolving in-store functions and flow
- Directly supervises the Educator when managing the floor
- Unpack boxes for inventory as required. Boxes can weigh 5 – 20kgs
- Under the direction of the Store and Assistant Manager, performs and completes other additional projects, duties and assignments as required and/or request
- Responsible for the daily opening and closing of the business, managing daily goal and schedule needs
- Ensures that the floor is merchandised with education in mind and reflects best practices within the merchandise modules
- Takes full responsibility and accountability for their lives and results through meaningful and measurable goals that support in achieving their vision
- Develops people through vision and goals, straight talk and intentional listening
Self-development/learning - The Key Leader is fully enrolled and is an advocate for the+Y86 culture of lululemon and the tools available for personal growth and development. They understand these tools and work to enrol the rest of the team in them.
- They also proactively acquire knowledge / education regarding general company information, news bulletins, store policies, processes, quality control, new garments/styles, guest feedback/experiences, and staff information by consistently reviewing the company intranet and communication channels.
Must Haves
- Passion, knowledge and involvement in yoga, and/or other fitness, health or sports activities required. We expect that you will be enrolled in participating in weekly fitness activities in and out of the store with the store team.
