about this role

The Regional Senior Merchandise Manager will lead the merchandising and planning/allocations functions for our EMEA team and will report into the SVP GM, EMEA.  The role requires a leader who can provide values-oriented leadership, along with coaching and development of their team to achieve goals.


a day in the life: 

  • Collaborate closely with merchandising to share regional insights and product needs, ensuring these are incorporated into the global line to deliver EMEA growth plans
  • Harness consumer insights and market knowledge to empower strategic development and decision making
  • Partner with EMEA FP&A and Global Planning to align on regional merchandise plans including sales, MMU and MD, ensuring the financial success of the region
  • Analyse and reflect current trends in performance of strategy based on actual sales; feedback to relevant in-season teams proposals for review of sales and profitability and to optimise inventory management
  • Partner with the regional DC to understand warehouse inventory levels, alongside optimising the delivering product to guests in all channels; provide accurate DC forecasts based on input from in-season NAE teams
  • Partner with the NAE Inventory & Planning teams to ensure the right stock levels are maintained across all channels; including width, depth and sizing
  • Partner with NAE Merch and Store Planning to ensure that locally relevant product is ranged to the Europe clusters
  • Lead the development of inventory exit strategies that maximize GM
  • Develop, inspire & coach a high-level of talent to drive and execute on company goals. 
  • Provide sound leadership in a fast-paced, high growth entrepreneurial environment.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as necessary.
  • Inform and enroll cross functional partners in Quarterly Product Strategies (Retail, E-commerce, B&C, Digital Marketing, VM)
  • Control divisional operating expenses in line with budgetary expectations, managing the department P&L
  • Lead regional product strategy, in line with overall EMEA and MPA functional plans
  • Sit on the EMEA Leadership Team; representing function and collaborating on overall regional needs
  • Create comprehensive in season merchandise and planning/allocation strategies to drive and support regional sales and profit goals
  • Oversee the development of allocations principals and execution to ensure sales maximization, inventory optimization and brand enhancement


qualifications:

  • Significant experience in a high growth organization with solid merchandising and planning/allocation experience.  Brings a broad business orientation and key competencies including strong collaborative and coaching skills, strategic and creative vision, and analytical skills enhanced by intuitive consumer insight
  • 10+ years of broad retail experience with particular emphasis on merchandising, planning/allocation, and process improvement
  • Extensive retail merchandising background in a vertically integrated specialty retailer. Performance/active wear experience and knowledge of technical fabrics is highly desirable, along with multi-channel and international experience
  • Excellent taste level with the ability to interpret current trends that appeal to the lululemon guest
