a day in the life
Reports to Director, Legal - Responsible for managing Global IP function and commercial functions related to brand, marketing, Endorsements, sponsorships, influencers, licensing, new products and product creation.
- Deliver effective and practical legal advice to Product Development, Design, Whitespace and Brand with a focus on intellectual property, entertainment law, sponsorships, influencers, digital marketing and endorsements.
- Help lululemon to become a truly global brand with iconic assets around the world.
- Respond to contract and commercial advice requests from across the organization. Develop and implement policies and procedures to guide our sponsorship, ambassador and influencer programs and to be successful and innovative market-leading programs.
- Help lululemon strategically and successfully manage litigation.
- Work cross functionally with procurement and other cross-functional teams in the negotiation of commercial agreements.
- Work collaboratively with legal team members on contract drafting and responding to requests.
- Work with external counsel on litigation and commercial matters.
- Delivery of legal services related to Brand marketing and production, Sponsorships, Events, and Ambassador, Athlete and Influencer programs, and product development.
- Support development of new products and services including Mirror, Footwear, Membership, the Collective and other projects.
- Support in-house litigation work including gathering evidence, working with external counsel tracking infringement and enforcement.
- Support commercial and contract requirements for Whitespace, brand, digital marketing, social media, product and design.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners in legal and in key business teams.
- Create and implement policies and procedures to advance lululemon's objectives.
- Review and guide promotional materials, advertisements, contests social content and user generated content campaigns.
qualifications
- LL.B or J.D.
- Member of the Bar in one jurisdiction
- 3-6 years' experience working at law firm or in-house legal department
- Experience drafting and advising on commercial agreements.
- Entertainment law, Influencer Marketing and Endorsement law experience is an asset.
