About this team

The payroll team works in a high volume and fast paced environment.  Paying around 13,000 employees around the globe on a weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthy and monthly basis.  Payroll works hard and plays hard enjoying a work life balance.  

A day in the life: 

The Payroll & Accounting Specialist prepares and inputs changes and adjustments for assigned countries and processes the payroll on a monthly basis.  They are responsible for the completion of all month-end international journal entries and audit requests.  Must be able to deal with confidential information appropriately.  Must be a team player with the ability to provide a high level of customer service.
  • As a team (US, Canada, International) process payroll accurately and on time.
  • Input changes and adjustments ensuring all input is appropriately authorized with strict adherence to deadlines.
  • Each month check HSBC to ensure all payments made by A/P and Ops Accounting for the international payrolls have been processed.
  • Monthly reconciliations of payroll totals to posted GL totals.
  • Annual reconciliation of payroll totals to GL and tax forms.
  • Support in the international audits.
  • Promptly advise management of any problem areas along with possible solutions.
  • Provide clients with a high standard of service and support by ensuring all requests/concerns are dealt with promptly.
  • Provide manual cheques and any other required forms on time and accurately.
  • Ensure SOX compliance and compliance with country wage and labour laws regarding payments, terminations, etc.
  • Assist the Payroll Accountant with monthly and year end payroll and account reconciliations as necessary.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting as needed.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned by the Payroll Manager.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 4 years of payroll experience.
  • CPA level I preferred.
  • Accounting certificate.
